’76 Monte Carlo Door Fabrication

Both Doors to the ’76 Monte Carlo were, well they were bad!  When we first started to look at them I really did not think there was any hope and told my mentor that I could not fix them.  I said they were garbage and and we should start looking for replacements.  We looked for a while but could not find any, all we could find were replacements skins at about $300.00 each!  We did find some online but were 40 years old too and not in great shape either, plus the shipping was going to be ridiculous on two ’76...

’76 Monte Carlo….Full Restoration??

The ’76 Monte Carlo is not a special car by any means, unless it was your first new car and you are the original owner.  That is how we ended up with the 1976 Monte Carlo at the Automotive Mentoring Group.  It was completely smashed on the passenger side, from the front of the Fender all the way to the “B” pillar.  The interior was in bad shape and the floors and the trunk were rusted through in several places.  The quarter panels on both sides were rusted all along the bottoms and well most of the metal needed...

The Restoration Has Begun!

So it has officially begun.  We started the Restoration of the 1947 Cadillac Series 60 Fleetwood today July 23, 2016.  I received the ’47 as a gift from my mentor Alex Leveque of the Automotive Mentoring Group back in March of 2016. 1960 Bubble Top Impala

Here is a 1960 Impala 2 Door Bubble top that was brought to the Automotive Mentoring Group for a full restoration.  We will be doing a lot of metal work to repair extensive rust damage to the quarter panels and to blank out the antenna and old spot lights as well.  Then of course we will be doing body work, more body work and then some more body work.  We are putting on some custom rims and painting it a pale yellow.  I do believe we will be adding air ride to this bad boy too.  Stay tuned to...
